Shanghai Pudong International Airport ranked first in air connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region in 2025, while its inbound and outbound passenger tally surpassed 25 million this year by Sept 4, maintaining its leading position among China's air ports of entry.

The Air Connectivity Ranking 2025, released by Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East on Sept 7, 2026, also named Pudong Airport the region's most improved airport in connectivity.

In 2025, the airport operated scheduled flights to 291 destinations in 53 countries, handled more than 84.99 million passenger trips and processed over 4.09 million metric tons of cargo and mail. A total of 110 airlines operated scheduled flights at the airport that year.

The 25-million milestone was reached six days earlier than in 2025. More than 2.8 million transfer passengers had also benefited from 24-hour direct transit services without undergoing border inspection.

The figures highlight Pudong Airport's growing role as an international aviation hub, supported by its extensive flight network and streamlined transit services.
