The 2025 Global Promotion Conference for the Industrial Ecosystem of Zhangjiang Pharma Valley, a key component of the International Biopharma Industry Week Shanghai (IBIWS) 2025, was held in Pudong New Area on Oct 14, showcasing a lineup of innovative results from Zhangjiang Pharma Valley.

Launched in 2021, IBIWS provides a platform for global collaboration in biopharmaceutical innovation and industry growth.

Zhangjiang Pharma Valley has had 29 domestically developed Class I innovative drugs that have obtained national approvals for market entry. This year alone, seven innovative drugs were marketed in succession, including China's first humanized long-acting GLP-1 drug, the first gene therapy drug, and the first segmented manufacturing pilot.

As for medical devices, the valley also achieves remarkable results. There are 38 innovative medical devices that have received the green light to enter the market. Four domestically developed devices have been launched this year, filling related technical gaps in China and advancing cardiac electrophysiology into a new era.

The Zhangjiang Pharma Valley Integrated Service Center was unveiled at the conference, and multiple agreements were signed on technology transfer, functional platforms, and medical device projects.

The concurrent event included an appointment ceremony for the Pudong New Area Biomedical Industry Development Expert Committee. Established in 2022, the committee has gathered top experts to advance Pudong towards becoming a global biomedical hub.
