Shanghai Port tops global container throughput rankings for 14 consecutive years
Shanghai Port reached another milestone in 2023 when its container throughput surpassed the 49 million TEU (20-foot equivalent unit) mark.
This means that the port has been the global leader in container throughput for 14 consecutive years.
Shanghai Port is currently connected to over 700 ports in more than 200 countries and regions worldwide. The port is also one of the first in the world to possess LNG bunkering capabilities. It had previously joined forces with the Port of Los Angeles to establish the world's first trans-Pacific green shipping corridor.
