Pudong takes steps to promote high-quality development
Since the beginning of this year, Pudong New Area has strived to drive high-quality development in three main ways.
To meet the need for talents, which have long been an important engine for its development, Pudong released a total of 25 favorable policies, and asserted that it will become a powerful magnet for talents from home and abroad.
According to Gu Xiaosong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Pudong's favorable talent policies not only cover aspects such as financial support, residence, and offspring's education, but also take into account team membership with academicians.
At the same time, Pudong has provided enough industrial space for scientific and innovative enterprises. Recently, the headquarters of SmartSens Technology, a high-tech enterprise specializing in research and development of high-end imaging, broke ground in Pudong, backed by total investment of 850 million yuan ($122.23 million).
Furthermore, Pudong recently released 20 key tasks to optimize the business environment. According to Dong Yiwen, administrative vice-president of Pudong, The district will benchmark against the 10 evaluation indicators of the World Bank's business-friendly environment, and make breakthroughs in facilitating access to business premises and financial services.
