As the largest chemical producer in the world, BASF locates one of its regional headquarters in Shanghai and the regional headquarter recently had its latest batch of chemical products successfully enter the Indonesian market with no tariffs imposed by virtue of the certificate issued by Shanghai Customs.

Listed in the first batch of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) advanced certified enterprises and headquarters economy pilot enterprises, BASF and its subsidiaries can enjoy the green channel of integrated tax collection and management provided by Shanghai Customs. With the help of the green channel, in the first 10 months, the Customs accepted more than 4,000 batches of imported goods declared by BASF.

Another regional headquarters enterprise located in Shanghai, Givaudan, a Swiss manufacturer of flavors, fragrances and active cosmetic ingredients, also received support from Shanghai Customs, as its production resources and capacity allocation have become more streamlined. This year, its foreign trade value of processing trade reached 273 million yuan ($39.18 million), up 25.48 percent year-on-year.

Currently, there are 877 headquarters enterprises and 523 foreign-invested research and development centers in Shanghai, making Shanghai the city with the largest amount of headquarters enterprises in China. At the same time, among all the headquarters enterprises located in Shanghai, there are 413 sitting in Pudong. With the convenience brought by Shanghai Customs, the headquarters economy in Shanghai is expected to be more prosperous.
