Themed on "One hub, one world", the global hub project was launched on Nov 10 in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Pudong aims to boost more trade transactions with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and promote investment and cultural exchanges in the area.
With a building area of over 12,000 square meters, the project was launched in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone under China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It serves as a country (regional) pavilion, an import commodity sales center, and an international cosmetic, watch, jewelry and alcohol products exhibition and trading center.
According to Sun Bin, a staff of Consulate General of Spain in Shanghai, the project extends the capacity of the China International Import Expo (CIIE). There were more than 20 specialties from Spain showcased at the fifth CIIE, and with more commodities yet to be tested in the country's pavilion to see whether they will win popularity, a variety of more products are expected to be showcased by Spain at next year's CIIE.
To test and enhance the popularity of goods, the project also employs more innovative ways to simulate consumption scenarios and highlight national (regional) characteristics.
As a new landmark of Waigaoqiao consumption centers, the project is expected to continue to function as a platform showcasing year-round transactions, deepen the practice of opening-up, and take full advantage of the overflow effect of the CIIE.
