Shanghai has fully restored its production and daily life since June 1 and as a result, the volume of cargo at its sea and air ports has continued to rebound in recent days, with activity basically recovering to more than 90 percent of normal levels.

As the world's top three international air cargo hub, Pudong airport is home to the operations of three international cargo integrators: FedEx, DHL and UPS.

It handled more than 200 daily cargo and mail flights during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 3 to 5, comparable to the number of flights in Shanghai before the COVID-19 outbreak.

In terms of shipping, since June 1 the daily container throughput of Shanghai port has exceeded 119,000 TEUs, or twenty-foot equivalent units, the standard container size.

At the city's Yangshan port, the daily export declaration volume was 7,000 during Shanghai's lockdown period, but since June 1 the daily export declaration volume has increased to 11,000.

According to port officials, at present the relevant units of Shanghai port are doing their level best to ensure the timely shipments of exported goods.
