Shanghai to bolster legal environment for Pudong
Shanghai will reinforce its legislation system in all aspects for a more stable and robust legal environment to develop Pudong New Area into a pioneer of socialist modernization, according to the measures released by Shanghai People's Procuratorate on Thursday.
The move is in line with a guideline released on July 15 by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, China's Cabinet, which specifies Pudong New Area's role in pioneering the higher level of reform and opening-up in China, and serving as a strategic link between the domestic and international markets.
According to the measures, Shanghai procuratorial departments will ramp up efforts to crack down on crimes that undermine Pudong's development and stability, improve the risk prevention and control system throughout the procuratorial process, and safeguard political, economic, financial, cyber and data security.
The city will strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and work for an effective criminal justice system to protect people's rights and interest and to preserve public safety.
In addition, the city will implement a stricter environmental protection mechanism for the development of people's lives and business, according to the measures.
