As more people go back to work and school, the need for nucleic acid testing is growing, and the Shanghai Health Commission announced that the city will offer COVID-19 testing services for individuals from April 22.

According to the announcement, 50 medical institutions in Shanghai, including seven in Pudong New District, can conduct COVID-19 tests. People who would like to take the nucleic acid tests should book online and the cost will be at their own expense.

A woman surnamed Yang said that she plans to go back to Hubei province and the local community asked her to take the test. She said that the services were very convenient.

The testing fee for each person is 240 yuan ($34), including sampling. Individuals can make reservations online or through their phone, according to a medical worker at Gongli Hospital Pudong.

He said people tested can receive an electronic report in two working days.
