Lin-gang Special Area to promote key projects worth $57b in 2020
The Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone plans to promote a total of 134 key projects worth 400 billion yuan ($57 billion) in 2020, according to information released by the administrative committee of the area on Dec 17.
Among the projects, there will be 50 projects focusing on technological industries, 31 on transportation improvement, 19 on the environment and 34 on social and livelihood affairs.
The technological industries-related projects, which will cost nearly 250 billion yuan, are expected to develop high-tech industries, construct standard workshops, boost headquarters economy and promote the growth of the comprehensive bonded area in the Lin-gang Special Area.
The environmental projects, at a cost of more than 17 billion yuan, will build several scenic belts, open up new river channels for flood prevention and improve sewage treatment infrastructure.
The social and livelihood affairs projects, costing more than 55 billion yuan, will include a number of kindergartens, primary schools, youth centers, community healthcare centers, and home care nursing centers.
Moving forward, the administrative committee has said the Lin-gang Special Area will continue to focus on improving its business environment, promoting investment, and cultivating talents.
