The Alibaba Cloud Innovation Center was inaugurated in the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai on Nov 12.
The center plans to use Alibaba's wealth of resources to benefit companies in Lin-gang.
Chen Jie, deputy director of the management committee of the Lin-gang Special Area, said that the Alibaba Cloud Innovation Center would help bridge entrepreneurship, innovation, online and offline services, sci-tech incubation, and financial investment.
Alibaba Group has opened more than 50 innovation centers in over 20 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The centers have provided matchmaking services for more than 40,000 start-ups.
Lin-gang Special Area has a solid foundation in artificial intelligence and integrated circuit technologies, while Alibaba is strong in cloud computing and e-commerce, Chen said.
Collaboration between the center and Lin-gang firms is expected to improve companies' innovation capabilities and the area's entrepreneurship environment, Chen added.
Chen also expressed hope that more firms would move to Lin-gang, and vowed that the area's management committee would provide them with the best possible services.
