Operated by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, the new intercontinental service will run three round trips per week starting Oct 27. The route adds another Belt and Road destination to Shanghai's international aviation network, providing a more convenient air link to support trade, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Algeria.
Shanghai's airports have stepped up efforts this year to reinforce the city's role as an international aviation hub, steadily expanding their global route network. New long- and medium-haul services now connect Shanghai with Stockholm, Sweden; Dublin, Ireland; Adelaide, Australia; Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, Russia; Tbilisi, Georgia; and Kolkata, India.
As the network continues to grow, more international travelers are choosing Shanghai as a departure point or transfer hub, further strengthening the city's air connectivity to destinations around the world.
