With 30 days to go before the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), multinational companies in Pudong are preparing to debut products globally, expand their exhibition spaces, and strengthen local supply chain partnerships, underscoring their continued commitment to the Chinese market.

Boehringer Ingelheim will present 14 innovations spanning cardiorenal and metabolic diseases, respiratory conditions, and oncology, including three potential therapies making their debut in China.

AstraZeneca, participating in every CIIE session, will occupy an approximately 1,000-square-meter booth and introduce three therapies. These include baxdrostat, a hypertension treatment approved in the United States in May, which will make its China debut. Two other medicines, tremelimumab (Imjudo) for cancer and tezepelumab (Tezspire) for respiratory diseases, will be showcased following their approval in China.

L'Oreal will highlight its efforts to connect global and Chinese innovation. Its BIG BANG beauty technology co-creation program has attracted more than 2,800 start-ups and incubated over 100 projects in six years. This year, 22 winning companies from North Asia and France will present their work, with a focus on AI-driven innovation.

The expo also provides a platform for companies to deepen their presence in China. Boehringer Ingelheim plans to strengthen research and development, manufacturing, and commercialization by building a new R&D center in Zhangjiang. AstraZeneca will showcase progress across its value chain, from research and production to patient access and sustainability, supported by its previously announced investment plan of more than 100 billion yuan ($14.8 billion).

From bringing global innovations to China to helping Chinese innovations reach international markets, CIIE continues to serve as a platform for Pudong-based multinationals to expand their local and global partnerships.
