The opening ceremony gathered senior officials from Shanghai municipal authorities, Pudong New Area, and Shanghai Shendi (Group) Co Ltd, highlighting efforts to strengthen cultural connectivity and promote international cooperation through film and audiovisual exchange platforms in Shanghai.
Since its launch, the Belt and Road Film Week in Pudong has evolved from a screening platform into a comprehensive hub integrating culture, film industry cooperation, and tourism, supporting the high-quality development of Shanghai's cultural sector.
This year, 16 films from China, Chile, and Brazil will be screened, with eight nominated for final honors spanning youth narratives, homeland emotions, and social observation, reflecting diverse storytelling across participating countries and regions.
An industry cooperation day will focus on comprehensive industrial collaboration, including content creation, copyright trading, and talent development. About 200 film enterprises are now based in the Shanghai International Resort, supporting industry growth.
A newly established Shanghai International Resort Film Service Center was officially inaugurated, further improving full-cycle support services. Pudong also aims to strengthen its role as a frontier for the film industry, opening up to global cooperation.
