Pudong unveils summer cultural and tourism highlights
As summer approaches, Shanghai Pudong New Area is rolling out a diverse cultural and tourism lineup featuring major museum exhibitions, botanical showcases, and urban science experiences. Through immersive, cross-disciplinary offerings spanning art, nature, and science, the district aims to attract international visitors to multiple landmark venues throughout the district.
From July 3 to Oct 7, the China Art Museum, Shanghai, will present A House of Nobility: Aesthetics and Cultivation of Life in the Mawangdui Han Tombs, a landmark exhibition featuring 472 artifacts, including 31 first-class national cultural relics.
Through immersive storytelling and rare archaeological treasures, the exhibition offers insights into aristocratic life, craftsmanship, medical knowledge, and cosmology during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24).
At Shanghai Expo Culture Park's Shanghai Greenhouse Garden, Realm of the World — Agave and Its Friends, Plants of the Americas Show runs from July 9, 2026, to November 14, 2027, showcasing more than 300 species of plants from the Americas. The exhibition incorporates elements of Aztec, Maya, and Inca cultures and highlights the agave's rare once-in-a-century bloom through immersive landscapes and a pineapple alpaca sculpture.

The world insect parade natural science exhibition at Luyue Tiandi, Zhangjiang Science City features 60 insect species and 12 educational activities, transforming a commercial space into an immersive nature learning environment. The program encourages hands-on exploration of camouflage, biodiversity, and ecology, reflecting Pudong's integration of culture, science, and urban life.
