Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co delivered two large vessels, the 14,000 TEU container ship ESL Singapore and the LNG carrier Johor Princess, five months ahead of schedule, marking a breakthrough in high-end shipbuilding efficiency and in the LNG equipment localization ecosystem.

The 14,000 TEU vessel built for German shipowner Peter Döhle was delivered five months early on May 26. The ship measures 335 meters in length, 51 meters in beam and 30.2 meters in depth.

Powered by a methanol-ready 6×92-1.1 main engine and a permanent magnet shaft generator, the vessel improves energy efficiency and supports a dual-fuel design with methanol and ammonia fuel readiness, enabling the green shipping transition for sustainable operations.

The LNG carrier Johor Princess was delivered on May 29 to Petronas and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, becoming China's first LNG vessel equipped with a full range of domestically produced cryogenic valves, supporting industrial upgrading and transformation.

It adopts the Hudong-Zhonghua fifth-generation Changheng series design, measuring 299 meters in length, with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, and improves efficiency, reduces emissions, and enhances cargo performance through advanced hydrodynamic optimization technology supporting global LNG trade development.

Large LNG carriers are considered the crown jewel of shipbuilding, while cryogenic valves are critical components. The domestically developed full-range valve system improves reliability and strengthens China's LNG equipment supply chain, enhancing industrial supply chain resilience.
