The Global Innovative Medical Device Exhibition and Training Center was inaugurated at the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, alongside the A3 International Medical Technology Innovation Exchange Center, led by Boston Scientific, Danaher, and Siemens Healthineers.

The launch represents a major step for the zone in gathering global medical innovation resources and advancing international collaborative innovation. It marks the beginning of large-scale industrial clustering and project-based implementation in high-end medical device development.

The center integrates three main functions: international medical device training, advanced product exhibition and trading, and cross-border research and development support, complemented by comprehensive service facilities designed to support industry collaboration and technology exchange.

Policy support allows people from areas outside Chinese mainland to enter the zone for 30 days without a visa, with the option to extend. Eligible imported medical devices and consumables enjoy bonded and tax-exempt treatment, helping reduce costs for training, exhibitions and trading activities.

By the end of 2025, the bonded area had gathered 204 medical device enterprises, including 61 of the world's top 100 medical device companies. The zone has formed a well-developed industrial cluster with concentrated innovation resources and supportive infrastructure.

The A3 project, jointly led by Boston Scientific, Danaher and Siemens Healthineers, focuses on cardiovascular, oncology and neuromodulation fields. It provides integrated solutions covering screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, minimally invasive intervention and patient follow-up management.
