Pudong New Area to stage flower events in April
Shanghai's Pudong New Area has transformed into a floral wonderland in April with a series of flower displays and traditional cultural experiences.
At Shenyuan Garden in Shanghai Expo Culture Park, elegant music will set the scene as the 12 "flower goddesses" parade returns. Performers in elaborate hanfu will walk through pavilions and waterside corridors, blending with the garden's spring scenery.

The parade is a key part of the park's traditional culture week, which runs through April 19. The event features three segments — Cold Food (Hanshi) Festival-themed gatherings, the 12"flower goddesses" Parade, and traditional music banquets. Visitors wearing hanfu and making reservations in advance can enter the park for free. Interactive activities such as handicraft workshops on traditional buttons and kites, as well as lectures on hanfu culture, will also be available.
The Pudong Qiantan branch venue of the 2026 Shanghai International Flower Show will kick off at Taikoo Li Qiantan on April 18.
The venue will line up a two-kilometer flower-viewing route linking the riverside public space with major commercial complexes, while a 1.5-kilometer hydrangea avenue serves as the core landscape axis. Along the way, a flower-decorated vintage-style train will travel along the route, offering stunning views of blossoms and the river.

Elevated walkways between Taikoo Li Qiantan and Jingyao Foreshore will be transformed into Chinese rose-themed sky paths, while installations inspired by Monet's paintings will further enhance the visual appeal.
