The 93rd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) opened on April 9, bringing together leading medical technology companies in Shanghai's Pudong New Area to showcase innovations across multiple exhibition zones.

Siemens Healthineers presented nearly 50 innovative products, integrated solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, and its latest green and sustainable development practices.

In cardiovascular and neurovascular care, the company debuted its new full-spectrum interventional ecosystem — an open, end-to-end platform for operative procedures built on a digital catheterization lab system.

GE Healthcare showcased more than 50 precision medicine innovations and multiple ecosystem partnerships, including 12 global or China-first launches and 11 new clinical application solutions. Over 60 percent of the exhibits were developed by Chinese teams, while 95 percent were manufactured in China.

Several global-firsts from Pudong also drew strong attention, with Neuracle Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd's booth seeing particularly heavy traffic. In March, its implantable brain-computer interface (BCI) system for hand motor function compensation became the world's first invasive BCI device approved for market entry by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), marking a breakthrough in neurotechnology.

Another highlight came from AccuTarget MediPharma (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a Zhangjiang-based company. Its new-generation TACTIC® CryoNeedle® received NMPA approval earlier this year. With an ultra-thin needle, nitrogen-based freezing and electric rewarming system, it sets a new benchmark for minimally invasive, efficient, and intelligent tumor cryoablation.
