The next-generation vehicle industry in Shanghai's Pudong New Area has seen a fresh bout of progress in recent days, as innovations in intelligent driving technology continue to advance rapidly from development to real-world application.

IM Motors, a rising name in China's new energy vehicle sector, recently launched IM Ultra Agent, the first AI super agent in the industry, powered by the Qwen AI model.

The company also announced that its upcoming IM LS8 vehicle will leverage the Qwen model and a fully steer-by-wire digital chassis system to deliver an intelligent driving experience.

At the core of IM Ultra Agent are three key technological breakthroughs, including IM Fusion Nova, an industry-first integrated architecture that integrates steer-by-wire chassis, intelligent driving AI and smart cockpit AI. The system enables AI not only to better understand user intent but also to coordinate vehicle-wide actions in real time.

On the supply chain front, Pudong-based automotive component company Shanghai Ingin Auto Technology Co also reported progress. The company won the Technological Innovation Ecological Partner Award at the 2026 Global Automotive Supply Chain Ecological Partner Award Ceremony with its self-developed Smart FTC™ Frunk System.

The system represents a shift from traditional mechanical structures to integrated intelligent control. It provides a full solution covering locking mechanisms, domain control systems, drive units and sensors. It has already been mass-produced in partnership with major automakers including Changan and Xiaomi, with further collaborations underway.
