The tech service industry in Pudong New Area has seen significant growth, with revenues rising 41 percent from 104.2 billion yuan ($14.73 billion) in 2020 to 147.2 billion yuan in 2024.

The area has also set up 107 large enterprise innovation centers, seven high-quality incubators, and over 100 science popularization bases, further strengthening its innovation ecosystem.

Pudong New Area is investing in basic research by constructing the world's largest and most comprehensive photon science facility cluster. The area has also launched a joint innovation fund to support the integration of basic and applied research, encouraging businesses to explore advanced scientific fields.

To accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, Pudong New Area has streamlined industry-innovation linkages. Its international innovation platform has launched 615 projects, attracting over 1.4 billion yuan in investment, facilitating the practical application of scientific innovations.

The area has also pioneered the Open Innovation Center initiative, which has empowered more than 6,600 small- and medium-sized tech enterprises. This initiative supports a dynamic innovation ecosystem, enhancing enterprise growth.
