ChinaJoy 2025: Grand convergence of culture and technology to shine in Pudong
The 22nd China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference, also known as ChinaJoy 2025 and featuring the theme "Gather What You Love", is set to captivate audiences in Shanghai's Pudong New Area from Aug 1 to 4.
With 743 companies registered, including 237 foreign-funded enterprises from 37 countries and regions such as the United States, Canada, Germany, and South Korea, the event underscores its global appeal, with foreign participation reaching 31.8 percent.
The BTOC (business-to-customer) hall, spanning 110,000 square meters, will feature over 280 companies offering immersive entertainment experiences. Industry giants like Tencent Games and NetEase Games will showcase popular titles and new releases, providing attendees with hands-on gameplay opportunities.
International collaboration is set to soar, with overseas companies accounting for 46.5 percent of exhibitors in the BTOB (business-to-business) hall, a record high. International pavilions will host delegations from the Philippines, the Czech Republic, Russia, and beyond, fostering global partnerships.
Parallel conferences, including the China International Digital Entertainment Industry Conference (CDEC) and the China Game Developers Conference (CGDC), will see hundreds of industry leaders discussing the future of digital entertainment. CDEC will host five thematic summits, exploring trends in gaming, AIGC (AI-generated content), IP, and AI-enhanced entertainment.
Accompanying events, such as the inaugural Shanghai International Animation Month, will offer fans a vibrant mix of exhibitions, performances, and shopping promotions, solidifying Shanghai's status as a global hub for subculture enthusiasts.
