Belt and Road Film Week 2025 kicks off in Pudong

The Belt and Road Film Week 2025, part of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival, commenced in Pudong New Area on June 18. This year's edition features a diverse lineup of 15 acclaimed films from Belt and Road countries, aiming to foster cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.

In addition to screenings, the event includes cultural-industrial roundtables, a "Charming Pudong" cultural tour, and a Southeast Asian-themed lifestyle market, creating an immersive cultural experience for both industry professionals and the public.

Eight post-screening Q&A sessions with filmmakers have already sold out, highlighting enthusiastic audience engagement.

Prominent actors Huang Xiaoming, Tang Yan, and Yu Shi serve as ambassadors, promoting global film culture exchange. The Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance has expanded significantly, now encompassing 56 institutions from 49 countries, underscoring its growing international influence.

Additionally, 20 key projects and companies in the film and cultural creative sectors signed agreements during the event, marking a significant step towards industrial clustering in Shanghai International Resort.

With over 180 film and cultural enterprises already operating in the area, Pudong is poised to become a global hub for film and cultural exchanges, blending cinema with tourism, commerce, and technology.
