The Drug Information Association (DIA), a global leader in pharmaceutical research and development, has recently established its Shanghai representative office in the New Bund Global Economic Organization Cluster in the city's Pudong New Area, aiming to build a platform for international exchange and cooperation.

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Washington D.C., DIA is one of the most influential non-profit organizations in the global life sciences sector. With offices in Europe, Japan, and India, DIA has been committed to bringing together industry leaders to discuss current scientific and technological issues in the R&D process over the past six decades.

Its membership spans over 80 countries and regions, with more than 16,900 professionals involved in key areas such as drug development, regulatory science, clinical data, and patient engagement. DIA also collaborates closely with global regulatory bodies such as the World Health Organization, the FDA, and the European Medicines Agency, fostering an international platform that integrates regulatory science innovation.

The 2025 DIA China Annual Meeting kicked off at the Zhangjiang Science Hall on May 22, continuing until May 25. To further enhance China's clinical research capabilities, representatives from leading clinical research institutions in the United States, Europe, Australia, and Japan were invited to engage in discussions and exchanges.

The event featured over 400 exhibition booths showcasing hundreds of top global life sciences and health R&D enterprises, biotechnology firms, CROs, CDMOs, IVDs, SMOs, and technical service providers.

The New Bund Global Economic Organization Cluster has emerged as a magnet for international economic organizations, now hosting over 20 such entities. These organizations, which account for 50 percent of the total in Pudong, focus mostly on trade rules, resource allocation, and international arbitration, playing a crucial role in facilitating access to global innovation resources and expanding institutional openness.
