The Shanghai Data Exchange (SDE) recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Astana Data Exchange (ADX) of Kazakhstan, marking a significant step forward in the construction of the "Digital Silk Road".

The two sides aim to integrate their respective strengths in the field of data element circulation and jointly explore innovative models for cross-border data flow and collaboration.

As a newly established data exchange in Central Asia, ADX is striving to become a leading national data trading platform. SDE, located in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, is leveraging China's vast market and advanced experience to provide mature solutions for international data circulation.

Under the agreement, both sides will focus on jointly constructing a trustworthy data exchange platform in Central Asia, advancing the development of cross-border data sharing platforms, standardizing cross-border data flow, enhancing technical integration and compliance governance, and exploring equity cooperation.

This initiative is expected to drive the high-level opening-up of international cooperation in the digital field and help to integrate the digital economies of China and Central Asia.
