International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering sets up operations in Pudong
Pudong New Area, an economic hub of both Shanghai and China, has achieved another milestone as the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), a globally renowned nonprofit dedicated to innovation in pharmaceutical engineering, has set up its Shanghai representative office in the New Bund Global Economic Organization Cluster.
ISPE Shanghai will engage with local pharmaceutical companies, regulators, and research institutions to tackle technological challenges and align China's pharmaceutical standards with international norms through forums, training, and white papers.
Since its inception in 2021, the New Bund Global Economic Organization Cluster has welcomed new additions like the Shanghai representative offices of the Royal Aeronautical Society, American College of Cardiology, and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. These organizations cover areas such as arbitration, professional services, rulemaking, and shipping, boosting Pudong's international profile and effectiveness.
Pudong's Global Organizations Cluster (GOC) initiative leverages national strategies to attract high-level international organizations such as chambers of commerce, associations, guilds, and standard-setters. The regulations on promoting the development of international economic organizations, effective starting Jan 1, 2025, strengthen Pudong's commitment by addressing business supervision, registration, taxes, talent services, and incentives.
Looking ahead, Pudong aims to attract more international economic organizations aligned with the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, optimize its business environment, and expand institutional openness.
