Five expats from Pudong honored with Magnolia Silver Award
The 2024 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award presentation ceremony was held on Nov 23, with 50 outstanding expats awarded the honor for their remarkable contributions to the city.
Among the award recipients were five entrepreneurs from Shanghai Pudong New Area.
Binyi Bai from the United States is currently the executive vice-president of Business Group Electronics China at FORVIA HELLA and member of the Executive Board Electronics of HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA. Under his leadership, Hella Shanghai Electronics was upgraded to the Asia-Pacific electronics R&D center and is the group's largest electronics manufacturing base worldwide.
June Chang from the US is currently the president of Boston Scientific Greater China. She took the initiative to promote the rapid development of Boston Scientific, which was among the first group of companies to be included in the Global Operator Program of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Cameron Michael Hume from Australia is currently the global wholesale director of Travelex International Limited. He has been the legal representative of Travelex Currency Exchange (China) Limited since 2008. Under his leadership, Travelex obtained one of the first national licenses for personal foreign exchange issued by China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange, became one of the first non-bank financial institutions to obtain foreign currency cash inbound and outbound transfer and wholesale business, and established its Asia-Pacific management headquarters in Shanghai.
Christopher Rogerson from the United Kingdom is currently the head of IB Language Acquisition at Shanghai Jincai High School. After joining the international division of the school in 2015, he established a tiered English teaching system and tailored English training programs for students with different language backgrounds.
Hong Shen from the US is currently the senior vice-president and head of the Roche Innovation Center of China at Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. He has long been engaged in the management of Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd and actively promoted the upgrading of Roche Innovation Center of China and the establishment of Roche Accelerator. The number of invention patents generated by the innovation center has exceeded 300.

Named after the city flower of Shanghai, the Magnolia Silver Award was set up in 1989 and has become one of the most prestigious awards recognizing and appreciating Shanghai's international friends for their contributions. Over the past 35 years, Pudong has witnessed a total of 124 awardees in the fields of business, healthcare, education, science and culture.
