Severin Schwan, chairman of Roche Group, recently attended the 36th International Business Leaders' Advisory Council (IBLAC) in Shanghai, where he emphasized that China remains a strategic market for Roche.

Shanghai boasts an exceptional business environment, robust economic strength, and a profound cultural heritage, all while focusing on long-term development. This presents unprecedented opportunities for multinational corporations, including Roche, said Schwan.

Roche is a long-time participant in IBLAC, having attended the conference for over 20 years. Schwan has personally contributed his insights at the council for 15 consecutive years. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Roche in China, during which it announced a clearer vision to continue being a leading multinational pharmaceutical company in China, making Roche's innovative medicines accessible to more patients and accelerating the launch of locally developed innovative drugs.

Roche has continuously upgraded and improved its full industry chain in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park within Shanghai's Pudong New Area since becoming the first multinational enterprise to locate there in 1994. As one of the earliest foreign pharmaceutical companies to establish a research and development center in China, Roche currently has 28 products across eight therapeutic areas.
