15th Lujiazui Forum scheduled for June 19-20
The 15th Lujiazui Forum is set to take place in Shanghai from June 19-20, under the theme "Promoting World Economic Growth through High-quality Financial Development".
This year's forum aims to explore how financial reform and innovation can foster high-quality financial development, thereby addressing global economic challenges and promoting sustained global economic growth.
The forum will invite more than 70 guests from home and abroad to deliver speeches, including government officials, representatives from international financial organizations, experts and scholars, such as the 2010 winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics, as well as heads of think tanks, such as London-based commercial think tank Z/Yen Group.
A total of eight plenary sessions will be held, covering hot issues in the economic and financial fields. Topics will include "Strengthening International Monetary Policy Coordination to Address Global Economic Recovery Challenges", "Technological Innovation and the High-quality Development of Capital Markets", "Green Financial System Innovation and Market Incentives", "Aligning with High-standard Economic and Trade Rules to Promote High-level Financial Institutional Opening", "Silver Economy and Pension Finance", "Digital Financial Innovation and Governance", and "Building a High-quality Inclusive Financial System".
The forum will also include an international seminar on rule of law in the financial system, and host a "Studio on Sci-Tech Innovation Finance". A series of signing and launch ceremonies will also take place during the two-day forum.
The Lujiazui Forum, held fourteen times since 2008, convenes top government leaders, heads of financial regulatory authorities and important financial institutions, experts, and scholars to discuss domestic and international economic and financial matters. The forum aims to solicit insights for the development of the Shanghai International Financial Center, the reform and opening up of China's financial sector, and global financial governance.
The forum has already become an authoritative domestic financial forum and an influential international platform for high-level financial dialogues. It serves as a vital platform for China's financial regulatory authorities to communicate globally.
The 2024 Lujiazui Forum will be co-hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration and the China Securities Regulatory Commission. The chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the mayor of Shanghai will serve as rotating presidents of the forum.
