Pudong's Waigaoqiao makes shopping for imported goods easier
A wide range of eye-catching products from across the globe can be easily bought at the Global Hub in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, which is operated by the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Pudong in East China's Shanghai.
Located on Yinglun Road in Waigaoqiao, the Global Hub consists of five trade centers that offer imported goods, international cosmetics, international watches and jewelry, and wines from across the globe.
Mechanical clocks from Germany's Helmle, and handmade jewelry from Italy's Vetiver, watches from Swiss's Longines and Omega, and Pakistani colored gems and pearls, which attracted much attention at the Fifth China International Import Expo that was held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, are on display at the International Watch and Jewelry Exhibition and Trade Center of the hub.
The Global Hub exhibits more than 4,000 trendy food products such as fresh imported Australian steak, and salmon imported from Norway. At the same time, exquisite jewels from Italy, perfume and bags from France can be seen at the Global Hub, which is like a miniature city where high-quality commodities from around the globe are available.
The Global Hub has benefited from the spillover effect of the CIIE, and is expected to promote the high-quality development of Pudong’s consumption industry, as well as help Shanghai speed up its pace in building itself into an international consumption center.
