Congressional report inspires people in Pudong
People from all walks of life in Pudong New Area, which is located in East China's Shanghai, were inspired by the pivotal report delivered by the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) delivered at the opening of the 20th CPC National Congress on Oct 16.
The report reviewed the great changes China has made during the past decade, and shed light on the country's future development.
The report laid the country's goals, tasks, and major policies for developing the cause of the Party and the country for periods to come, calling for efforts to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts "through a Chinese path to modernization", according to Hu Yunhua, associate professor at the Party school of CPC Pudong New Area Committee.
"Party school teachers should never forget our original aspiration and founding mission, stick to our mission and shoulder our responsibilities with dedication," Hu said.
Wang Xinyi, who started her career in Huinan town, Pudong, said that the part in the report about comprehensively promoting rural vitalization and developing agriculture and rural areas as a priority provided her with confidence and lifted her spirits.
Wang added that she will respond actively to the government's call to take part in Pudong's rural vitalization work, and make more contributions to her hometown.
Zhou Dao, 95 years old and a descendant of revolutionary fighters, said that he will continue to learn new things and improve himself, make good use of the "Red" revolutionary culture and develop the advanced socialist culture through intellectual and cultural methods.
The report detailed that China's innovation capacity was also strengthened. China's strategic science and technology capabilities were expanded at a faster pace, major advances were developed for core technologies in key fields, and breakthroughs were made in manned spaceflight, Mars exploration, resource exploration, energy projects and other areas, proving that China has entered the rankings of innovative countries in the world, which has inspired the scientific and technical workforce in Pudong.
Xu Xin, a C919 aircraft test pilot, said that he was very proud to research and contribute to the development of the large passenger aircraft. He added that he will work hard to assume the responsibilities of the times, and dedicate himself to successfully furthering the development of the C919 large passenger aircraft.
