PwC benefits from Pudong's high-level reform, opening-up
Pudong New Area in East China's Shanghai offers the best development opportunity for enterprises, said Huang Jia, partner and general manager of global consultancy PwC in Shanghai.
According to Huang, throughout the past 32 years of development, Pudong has established an innovative platform driven by large-scale enterprises and the local government, as well as a significant number of company incubation platforms, all of which demonstrate Pudong's open and inclusive business environment.
Since its establishment in Pudong, PwC has benefited a lot from the area's high-level reform and opening-up.
PwC started its You Plus Special Training Program in Pudong in 2017, and it only took the training school three months to start thanks to the reform separating permits from the business license launched by the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The central government issued specific plans last year to turn Pudong into a socialist modernization pioneer, which is meant to explore new development tactics and identify new development drivers for businesses in the area, according to Huang.
"The most attractive thing is that Pudong is exploring more ways to reduce the cost of living for talents. The local government provides our employees an apartment for long-term rental, with its rent cheaper than the market price," Huang said.
"Pudong has a better overall development plan, and has maintained steady growth in recent years. We have full confidence in Pudong's future," Huang added.
