Schools go online in Pudong
In light of the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai, the city's education authority announced that all elementary, middle and high school students will switch to online learning platforms from March 12 while all kindergartens will suspend operations.
The Shanghai municipal education commission said the decision was made to protect the safety and health of students and teachers.
Education authorities in Pudong gave a slew of useful tips for students while staying at home.
1. Students and parents should avoid unnecessary outings and gatherings, and students shouldn't attend offline off-campus training courses.
2. Students and parents still need to follow personal protection measures when they really need to leave home, including wearing mask, washing hands, maintaining social distancing while in public, and monitoring health daily. If symptoms such as fever, fatigue, cough, and reduced sense of taste and smell occur, people should go to the nearby fever clinics immediately.
3. Students and parents should actively coordinate with a COVID-19 epidemic investigation request. If your health code changes color, please do not be nervous, and teaching staff and students, as well as all members of households should cooperate with relevant departments to implement management measures.
4. Students can attend classes by using the municipal online education platform and download the required study materials. Those facing difficulties studying at home can apply for special arrangements to attend online courses in school.
Students should stay physically and mentally healthy, practice good hygiene, and exercise. If you experience stress or emotional issues, you should seek help from your family members, friends, teachers and professionals immediately.
