Fu Yong, who worked in Silicon Valley in the United States for 20 years, chose to return to his homeland and start a career in Zhangjiang Science City in Pudong New Area, East China’s Shanghai last year. It was Zhangjiang's favorable policies and sound business environment for the development of the integrated circuit industry that convinced Fu to make such a decision.
"Our goal is to compete on a global stage, and China offers a great platform for the development of EDA (electronic design automation)," said Fu.
The integrated circuit industry is a national focus and an important pillar of Shanghai's strategic emerging industries, as well as a "hardcore" industry of Pudong. In recent years, Zhangjiang has beefed up efforts to promote the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry and cultivated a number of upstream and downstream enterprises involved in the integrated circuit industry.
Zhangjiang is currently home to a number of leading integrated circuit enterprises, including Fu's Shunyao CAD and Ami Chip, which will help build a world-leading industrial ecosystem for the development of the integrated circuit industry in Pudong.
To develop more potential companies and promote the innovative development of the integrated circuit industry, Zhangjiang has launched a special activity titled "895 entrepreneurship camp", and winners of the companies will receive investment and free office space.
In the future, Zhangjiang will continue to promote the development of competitive industries and increase investment in key areas to support Shanghai's development into an innovation center with global influence.
