Pudong launches 88 new projects worth 82b yuan

Pudong New Area in Shanghai launched 88 key projects with a combined investment of 82 billion yuan ($12.85 billion) on Nov 13. Fourteen of these projects started construction on the same day.
These 88 new projects, which will be situated within Pudong's Jinqiao city subcenter, are related to new energy, intelligent connection networks, and the research and development (R&D) of chips.
A total of 74 projects related to corporate headquarters, R&D centers, innovation platforms, and industrialization bases were signed on the same day. Leading enterprises related to the development of future cars will also be set up in Jinqiao to develop the area into a world-class industrial cluster for the R&D of such vehicles.
According to the Shanghai Overall Development Plan (2017-35), the Jinqiao area of Pudong was designated as one of a city subcenters in Shanghai in 2018. Over the past years, the local government has beefed up efforts to promote the high-quality development of Jinqiao.
The development plan noted that Jinqiao will advance reform in all respects and take innovative measures in various areas such as gathering high-end talent, fostering core industries, and pursuing a green and low-carbon path to development.
