The 84th China International Medical Equipment Fair opened in Shanghai on May 13.

More than 30,000 latest products of medical equipment from 5,000 enterprises are displayed on the 300,000-square-meter exhibition. The fair will run until May 16.

Fourier Intelligence, a rehabilitation robotics startup in Pudong, is exhibiting its "intelligent rehabilitation port" one-stop solution at the fair, which makes use of 5G and AI to provide services like multi-person online interactive training and remote guidance for primary rehabilitation.

On the first day of the fair, Siemens Healthineers, the healthcare unit of German conglomerate Siemens, announced that its new innovation center in Shanghai Zhangjiang International Medical Park will officially open in the third quarter of this year.

The new innovation center will provide a platform for cooperation with local start-ups, medical institutions, scientific research institutes, and universities, complementing the current R&D and production bases of Siemens Healthineers.

As one of Siemens Healthineers' four innovation centers around the world, the new innovation center is sponsored by Zhangjiang Group to work on the innovation of medical technologies.

The center will include a 4,200-square meter office area, a rapid prototyping laboratory, a digital simulation laboratory, a medical AI research and development platform, as well as a smart imaging laboratory.

Founded in 1979, the China International Medical Equipment Fair is held twice a year, in the spring and autumn. After years of continuous innovation and self-improvement, the fair has become the largest exhibition of medical equipment, related products, as well as services in the Asia-Pacific region.
