The 0.3-ton, 3.1-meter-high head of the Gundam Freedom statue was installed successfully in Shanghai on April 26.
Located at the Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, the 50-ton, 18.03-meter-high Gundam statue is the first of its kind to be displayed outside Japan.
It will make its official debut on May 28, according to Sunrise, the studio behind the hugely popular Gundam anime series.
The statue, which comprises 288 parts, took five months to manufacture in Jiangsu province, and another four months to put together.
