Zhangjiang introduces new pharmaceutical innovation center
The JinKe Pharmaceutical Innovation Center of ChemPartner, a life science research service provider for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, was unveiled at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park on Dec 18.
The newly opened center, covering an area of about 24,000 square meters, consists of medicinal chemistry laboratories, biological research and development (R&D) laboratories, and supporting facilities for animal trials.
As a one-stop service platform for new drug R&D, the center is expected to provide professional support for various innovative pharmaceutical companies and help improve R&D efficiency with its comprehensive high-quality services.
Tang Wei, CEO of ChemPartner, said their consumers consist of not only multinational corporations and pharmaceutical factories, but also academics and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).
"For example, if a professor at a science and technology institute has an idea for a new drug, we can help turn it into a medical product and reduce the costs of innovation."
Hui Xin, president of ChemPartner, said at the opening ceremony that ChemPartner has cooperated with many partners in Zhangjiang to develop new drugs and will work to develop safer and more effective medications.
