As excitement builds with days to go before the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Shanghai's Pudong New Area is gearing up to host some of the most dynamic AI applications in the world, according to the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information.
Running from Aug 29-31, the WAIC will have over 10 featured activities -- including seminars, forums and project road shows -- with the focus on a connected intelligent world enabled by the development of AI technologies
Around 150 leading international academics, experts and industry heavyweights have confirmed their participation at the event where they will share their insights on a variety of topics, from machine learning, chips and smart hardware to autonomous driving and 5G.
The organizers said half the guest speakers are from the overseas.
For the first time, this year's event will set up an AI International Day and an AI Developer Day to foster an innovative ecology for AI and help technical personnel to share know-how and engage with each other.
Top AI developers from across the world are expected to flex their tech muscles and conduct a 36-hour closed workshop at the venue.
August 30 is designated by organizers as the international day of the 2019 WAIC, to raise the international profile of the event.
Adding to the fun at the three-day event will be a series of forums and high-technology shows.
