@AIsland, Zhangjiang's venture studio focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), has been put into official operation, local media reported on Aug 14.
Located on the "AIsland", a specialized AI hub in the Zhangjiang Science City of Shanghai's Pudong New Area, the 1,600-square-meter studio displays a wide range of advanced technologies including face recognition, intelligent access control, remote video, simultaneous interpretation and electronic whiteboards.
The studio aims to become an innovation center and a gathering place for resource sharing for Zhangjiang small and medium-sized enterprises.
Unlike traditional incubators, the studio is designed to serve as a platform to facilitate communication between big and small enterprises, said Sun Weiqin, an official from the studio.
The first innovation centers of world giants including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Swiss industrial technology company ABB Group, Global Logistic Properties and China Unicom have already set up operations in the center.
