The 2019 Pudong Science and Technology Festival opened in Pudong New Area of Shanghai on May 16, with over 300 company representatives and science and technology experts attending the opening ceremony.

With a focus on innovation, the festival attracted 60 science and technology enterprises from Zhangjiang to display cutting-edge technologies and advanced scientific and technological achievements in the field of artificial intelligence.

Activities including lectures, exhibitions and competitions are being held during the festival to further popularize scientific knowledge, instill a sense of enthusiasm for science, and advance scientific innovation in Pudong.

Seven adolescents in Pudong New Area received science and technology awards.

Adolescents are encouraged to cultivate creative thinking and practical skills from an early age so that they can contribute to the development of national science and technology, said an official from Pudong New Area.

More than 10 science education venues and 20 key laboratories and research centers will be open to the public during the festival, which will run until May 26.
