More than 70 companies from Zhangjiang in Pudong New Area of Shanghai displayed their latest products and technologies at the China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair from April 18 to 20.

Covering an area of 532 square meters, the Zhangjiang exhibition hall amassed over 100 advanced scientific and technological achievements in the areas of high-end equipment, intelligent manufacturing, and biomedicine.

Ada, a new personal health companion app, captured the spotlight at the event. Founded in 2011 by a team of doctors, scientists and engineers, the app uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to assess patient symptoms, track individuals' health progress, and share data with doctors.

It is currently the best AI-assisted medical system in the world, capable of identifying more than 1,300 diseases and 5,000 symptoms through AI technology and providing 24-hour services to doctors and patients.

In 2018, the Ada project was introduced to Shanghai's Zhangjiang AIsland.

In addition to the AI projects, a collection of rail traffic, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing products also mirrored Zhangjiang's focus on scientific and technological innovation. 

Shanghai Dijie Technology Co, an innovative enterprise focusing on urban transportation, displayed their technologies featuring separating automobile bodies and chassis.

New energy vehicles are expensive because of the battery. After automobile bodies are separated from the chassis, all drivers need to do is replace the chassis when the vehicle runs out of battery, without the need for recharging, said Zhao Yi, CEO of Dijie Technology, adding that the commuting time of Shanghai residents could be cut in half with the new technology.

The China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair, the only national trade fair for technology in the country, attracted about 100 enterprises and institutions from countries including the US, Canada, Hungary, Germany and South Korea this year.
