Forum on future industries held in Pudong New Area
The Zhangjiang 2019 Future Industries Forum was held at Pudong New Area, Shanghai on Jan 7.
The forum was jointly organized by the China Future Industry 100, the China Center for Information Industry and Development (CCID), the Shanghai Zhangjiang Group and the Pudong science and economy commission.
The attendees convened to discuss the global future industries’ innovation, and what long-term trends may emerge.

Tang Shiqing, director of Pudong science and economy commission, said that Pudong has made great efforts in optimizing its industrial structure, building a cluster of innovative functions and fostering strategic emerging industries in recent years.
Pudong government hopes to fully activate the industrial innovation entities and strengthen the close integration of scientific and technological R&D with market demands through the forum to provide Shanghai with new economic drivers.
Bao Chunqian, vice general manager of Zhangjiang Group, introduced the development history of Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone over the past 26 years at the forum.
According to Bao, Zhangjiang has gathered a large number of high-tech enterprises, with the annual active capital reaching 100 billion yuan ($14.61 billion). By the end of 2017, the number of enterprises listed on the Shanghai Equity Exchange had reached more than 8,700.
Pudong science and economy commission and China Future Industry 100 signed a strategic cooperation agreement during the forum.
Backed by the planning department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Future Industry 100 is jointly initiated by CCID and CITIC Group.
It is an industrial research and exchange platform for a group of experts, scholars and entrepreneurs who are keen to promote the development of China's emerging industries.
