A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed between the city of Shanghai and the neighboring Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces for collaborative planning in one of the latest efforts to further push forward the integrated development of the market system in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.
According to the agreement, cities in the YRD region should support and promote the experiences of free trade zones, propel the integration of resources and build a modern market system that allows the independent operation of companies, free choices and consumptions of consumers, the free flow of goods and equal exchanges, said Wang Bingnan, vice-minister of commerce.
While making sure of the free flow of goods and services within the region, all parties involved should give full play to advanced high technologies, such as internet and big data in a bid to build the YRD region a first-class demonstration area that represents the highest level of area integration in the country, he said.
Meanwhile, the YRD regions will also work together to boost cooperation in trade and businesses, seek innovation in the supply chain industry, promote the circulation of agriculture products and jointly create a sound business environment.
