Shanghai's Pudong New Area recently released ten small trip routes designed to help visitors from home and abroad better experience the beauty, charm and history of the city.

The routes feature urban ecological landscapes and integrate popular attractions in the area, according to their designer Shanghai Airlines Holiday Travel Agency.

One highlight is a route linking various landmarks in Pudong, including the Oriental Pearl Radio and TV Tower, the circular pedestrian bridge in Lujiazui, China Art Museum, the River Mall, and Houtan Park.

Walking on the circular pedestrian bridge in Lujiazui, the largest of its kind in Shanghai, visitors can take in a spectacular view whichever way they look.

The China Art Museum is sited in the former China Pavilion of Expo 2010, which is designed with the concept of the "Oriental Crown" and features a traditional Chinese wooden structure element - Dougong brackets. Visitors are able to admire both the architectural aesthetics and art treasures collected in the museum.

The River Mall is a shopping mall located along the Expo Axis at the former area of Expo 2010, where visitors can go shopping, have some afternoon tea or take a rest.   

At the Houtan Park, which features wetlands, visitors can be close to nature and temporarily escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

The launch of the small trips is in response to the city's call for the further development of its tourism industry in September.
