Music China, an expo to display musical instruments from all over the world, is taking place in Shanghai from Oct 10 to 13.
Exhibitors from China and overseas countries and regions such as Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Russia are showcasing both classic and new musical instruments.
One highlight is a series of instruments made by the Shanghai No 1 Folk Musical Instrument Factory that combine the images of Dunhuang murals and traditional craftsmanship such as gold and silver ware making techniques.
In addition to instruments being exhibited, the expo is also working with JZ School to launch a jazz competition, with the aim of discovering and nurturing talented Chinese musicians.
Music China started in 2002 and has increasingly grown in popularity amongst musical instrument brands and manufacturers at home and abroad. Its exhibits cover all types of musical instruments, musical accessories, and computer software for music.
