Pudong vows to develop airplanes

A meeting was held at the Shanghai Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on March 6, where Wu Guanghui, chief designer of C919 introduced the plane's latest developments.

Wu said that this year, more than three C919 will undergo the test flights on the fifth track of Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Moreover, C919 will go through several tests, such as limit load tests and flying under extreme weather conditions. Once the tests are completed, more work will be done such as calculating the airspeed, adjusting the passenger seats and changing the structure of the airplane.
Now C919 has applied for airworthiness certificate and it has obtained 815 orders in the global market.

Wu concluded that Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China has conducted researches on C919 under the support from the governments. Meanwhile, it is planned that 15 ARJ21 aircrafts will be manufactured and CR929, a wide-bodied airplane has been put into the list of future developments.
