Chinese version of Beauty and the Beast to be staged at Pudong
The Chinese version of Beauty and the Beast will be staged at the Walt Disney Grand Theatre soon, according to a news report published on Pudong's website on Feb 7.
Alan Menken, a world renowned composer came to the theatre to guide the rehearsal. Alan Menken is a great musician who has won Oscar numerous times. He has been creating music for operas, films, and TV dramas.
He created music for the film Beauty and the Beast which won over the hearts of countless music lovers.
Now the selection of the actors for the opera has been completed after quite a few rounds of careful selection in several aspects, such as performing techniques.
According to Alan Menken, the Chinese version will incorporate the elements of the local characteristics, thus bringing a totally different feeling from the original one.
