A metro train themed "I Love Lujiazui Financial City" set off in Shanghai on Nov 11.
The train is decorated with dozens of images of Lujiazui's mascots and slogans, which were selected from entries of a global call to solicit Chinese and English slogans and designs for its new mascot and branding.
Moreover, selected micro videos of the First Lujiazui Micro Video Competition are repeatedly played at Lujiazui metro station. The videos focus on the daily lives of Lujiazui's white-collar workers and citizens.
The mascots, slogans, and videos will be displayed until Dec 11. After that, the organizers will announce the final winners based on the public response and experts' judgment.
The slogan and mascot design solicitation started in May and was inspired by New York's Wall Street and the City of London, two world-renowned international financial centers, both of which have popular symbols. The former is the Charging Bull, a bronze sculpture, while the latter is a unique coat of arms.
Wang Hua, director of Lujiazui Financial City Development Bureau, has mentioned the importance of building up Lujiazui's international image, as the area is working on developing itself into a world leading financial city. He said that an improved city image will help lure more enterprises and financial institutions to Lujiazui.
