Agricultural machinery manufacturers from Laogang town in Shanghai's Pudong New Area were showcased at the first National Expo for New farmers' Entrepreneurship and New Technology Innovation, held in Suzhou on Nov 17.

Shanghai Farmwin Agriculture Technology impressed attendees at the expo with its newly-developed automated fruit picker which has a range of accuracy to rival its competitors on the market.

A spokesperson for the company claimed that it had made tireless efforts and trials to ensure that the accuracy and efficiency of operation brought real world gains to farmers wanting to maximize the yield and profit from their crops. 

Farmwin has also developed its own automated farm management system, utilizing internet of things (IoT) which allows farmers to monitor, water and influence the nutrient levels of their crops remotely. The system has proved so successful that it has allowed farmers using it to increase their crop yield by between five and ten times that of traditional methods.             

Another Laogang-based company turning heads at the expo was Shanghai Shuangkuai Specialized Cooperative of Agricultural Products, which showcased its high-tech furrowing machines and harvesters which are all aimed at increasing efficiency in the field.

To better serve its agricultural machinery industry and ensure high-tech advances, Laogang town has adopted several measures, such as establishing a special platform for research, development, practice and communication, and creating several programs for technology innovation.

The town has also taken steps to attract talents and experts in agriculture, enhancing cooperation with agricultural technology and setting up a mechanism for regularly training on the application of new technologies.

The innovative products displayed at the expo only serve to highlight Laogang town's modern, ecological, safe, premium, highly efficient high-tech agriculture industry.

It is now building a high-tech agriculture demonstration area and providing services of intelligent technology. The town is focusing on developing devices and labs for carrying out research on devices for stock breeding and supplementary infrastructure.
